Biology and engineering combine forces to get kids experimenting with conditions for the yeast (food, water, temperature) and how to harness/transfer its power (frame design, mechanical advantage, linkages). The parts can even be reused to make rubber-band powered vehicles! Grades 7 – 12+ (different documents for different ages). Some adult assistance is helpful for 7th-graders.
