Multi-Sensory Environments to Fit Your Needs

Sensory Room Solutions for Everyone and Every Budget

A Multi-Sensory Environment (MSE) or sensory room is a dedicated space designed to allow passive or active control of the environment to stimulate the senses, foster cause/effect interaction, help promote feelings of pleasure and relaxation, and build visual, auditory, and communication skills. An MSE should be a safe, non-threatening space that utilizes sound, light, movement, vibration, or other sensory input.

Typical components often include:

  • bubble tubes or encased moving water pieces
  • fiber optic light sources
  • tactile elements such as soft seating or textured walls
  • sound elements such as vibroacoustic furniture or reactive light panels

MSE's provide a solution that allows children the opportunity to control, manipulate, intensify, or reduce stimulation within a safe environment. School Specialty offers a full line of multi-sensory equipment for you to create a room to fit your students' needs.
