About This Item
Description
This Cellular Respiration Kit comes with enough material for 15 groups and contains litmus blue 0.5%, instant dry yeast, dextrose, sucrose, lactose monohydrate and sodium hydroxide 0.1N. It helps you expose living yeast cells to 3 different sugars namely glucose, sucrose, lactose and when living yeast cells are exposed to these sugars, the cells should begin to use the sugars as a food source if they are capable of metabolizing them while using the sugars, the yeast cells will begin to engage in aerobic respiration and/or fermentation. It lets students to understand that yeast may use different options for energy production and expose living yeast cells to 3 different potential food sources using a pH indicator to indirectly determine the effectiveness of 3 different sugars as a food source for yeast.Features
