About This Item
Description
This AP Chemistry Lab, focused on acid-base titrations, is a great addition to your classroom! The lab guides students as they conduct a series of acid-base titrations and determine the concentrations of two unknowns. First, students will create a procedure to collect quantitative titration data using a burette and pH meter. They will then determine the concentration of each unknown, using the titration data they collected. The activity contains enough materials for 15 groups of students, as well as a Teacher's Guide and Student Study Guide Copy masters. Meets Big Idea 6, Investigation 14, Primary Learning Objective 6.13.Features
- Chemicals are labeled with pertinent safety and storage information
- Develops scientific thinking and experimental design skills
- Structured hands-on learning activity that familiarizes students with titration, data collection, and analysis
- Small group experiments encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication
- Easy to integrate into AP Chemistry classrooms and curriculum
