United Scientific The Chemistry of Invisible Inks Stem Kit introduces the students to the world of chemistry and physics behind invisible inks. The invisible ink is a colorless substance which can be turned to color with the help of a chemical or physical process and students discover how the organic fluids and the chemical reagents can be used as invisible inks. Students generate various invisible inks which the other student groups analyze and decode. The kit contains 4 investigational activities containing model and inquiry investigation paths and is enough for up to 40 students. Kit consists of a DVD with PDF guides, digital content and the covered topics include data analysis, chemical and physical processes, elements, mixtures and compounds, pH indicators, transmitted vs. reflected light, the periodic table, fluorescent compounds, types of chemical reactions and hypothesis testing. It features hands-on learning materials and interactive digital content which can be accessed on a computer, tablet or your mobile device. Extra household materials are needed for independent investigations and the kit provides open investigations in order to make inquiry based learning enjoyable. Students can gain access to inquiry suggestions, background information of content tables and concept animations, PowerPoint concept presentation and a complete glossary. Students are provided with typewriter functionality which permits them to take notes, store the experimental data and answer the analysis questions.
