Innovating Science Students synthesize acetylsalicyclic acid (aspirin) from salicylic acid, acetic anhydride, and sulfuric acid. They purify the product by re-crystallizing it in toluene. Then they confirm the product identity by melting point. Each lab activity includes all the chemicals you need for each experiment plus a detailed Teacher's Guide and Student Study Guide copymasters.
