They’ll start by constructing their model using the colorful parts provided. They’ll then use their model to learn about the structure of a volcano and the different types of eruption. The unique model shows the volcano structure from both the outside and inside in cross section. Students can model the cone, vent, crater, magma chamber, magma, lava, volcanic bombs, ash cloud, pyroclastic flow and lahars. They will also learn about Hawaiian, Vulcanian, Vesuvian and Plinian eruptions.
The Model Making Kit includes enough materials for students to assemble up to 5 paper models working cooperatively.
