CPO Science Link Colliding Pendulum Basic Module helps to engage your students and boost their understanding of key concepts. Colliding Pendulum features colliding steel bobs that conserve energy and momentum to better than 97 percent. Through experimentation, students discover first-hand that bobs of equal mass transfer momentum as they collide. By colliding bobs of unequal mass, students learn how momentum conservation allows them to predict the mass of an unknown object. Topics explored include frequency, mass, velocity, Newton's laws, conservation of energy and momentum, and more. Three-levels of hands-on investigations, classroom-tested equipment, tablet-enabled learning experiences and online multimedia content make it a powerful tool to enhance student understanding. It contains five tablet-enabled investigations that are powered by Exploros. It meets MS-PS2-1, MS-PS4-1, HS-PS2-1, HS-PS2-2, HS-PS2-3, HS-PS3-1, HS-PS4-1 NGSS performance expectations.
