CPO Science Link Gravity Drop Collection

Description

CPO Science features complete, coordinated active learning core curriculum programs rich in STEM connections and aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). With Gravity Drop, students get to answer the question "what happens in free fall?" as they drop marbles, make accurate measurements, build graphs, and calculate the acceleration of gravity (g) to within 2 percent. This module allows students to make consistent marble drops and precise measurements, with reduced human error, controllable variables, and easy dropper/catcher alignment.

STEM concepts covered in Gravity Drop include average and instantaneous, speed, force and motion, acceleration, gravity, acceleration due to gravity, free fall, and Newton's laws of motion.

  • CPO Science Link engages students and boosts understanding of key concepts with hands-on science and engineering investigations and innovative digital learning experiences
  • All modules consist of investigations and teacher's guide, hands-on equipment, tablet-enabled learning, and online multimedia content with whiteboard resources
  • Program for middle school or high school accommodates differentiated instruction and can be used to enhance any existing traditional or alternative curriculum
  • Concepts covered meet STEM, Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and Common Core State Standards Initiatives
  • Gravity Drop addresses MS-PS2-4, HS-PS2-3, and HS-PS2-4 for NGSS performance expectations
