Description

CPO Science features complete, coordinated active learning core curriculum programs rich in STEM connections and aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). With the Energy Car module, students can explore speed, force, velocity, acceleration, Newton's Laws, graphs of motion, conservation of energy, conservation momentum, and more in live action. Excellent versatility and a variety of options allow students to control multiple variables while performing fun and engaging experiments. Students will get to: change the mass of the cars by 50%, 100%, or 150%; perform elastic and non-elastic collisions; make calculations with friction and measure speed and acceleration with precision; set up a course as a one-meter straight track or as a slope and level combo track, and more!

STEM concepts covered in Energy Car include acceleration, collisions, efficiency, energy, experiments, friction, measuring time, motion on a ramp, Newton's laws, speed, systems, two-part motion, and variables.

• CPO Science Link engages students and boosts understanding of key concepts with hands-on science and engineering investigations and innovative digital learning experiences
• All modules consist of investigations and teacher's guide, hands-on equipment, tablet-enabled learning, and online multimedia content with whiteboard resources
• Program for middle school or high school accommodates differentiated instruction and can be used to enhance any existing traditional or alternative curriculum
• Concepts covered meet STEM, Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and Common Core State Standards Initiatives
• Energy Car addresses MS-PS2-1, MS-PS2-2, HS-PS2-1, HS-PS2-2, HS-PS2-3, and HS-PS3-1 for NGSS performance expectations
