Classroom Select® Heavy Duty Teacher Desks

The Classroom Select furniture line from School Specialty is your best resource for maximizing the potential of any space. These heavy-duty Classroom Select desks are made to withstand the rigors of the classroom with their all-welded metal construction. All drawers have full extension drawer slides, making 100% of the drawer accessible. The desks also have an optional slide out shelf that can be placed on one pedestal or both. Classroom Select is your provider of safe, durable and affordable furniture that meets the needs of any 21st Century school.

Top:

  • Tops are constructed of a 1-1/4 inch MDF core with high-pressure laminate surface that is resistant to marks, burns, stains, oils and most solvents
    • Top is balanced with a phenolic backer sheet to minimize warping
  • Edges are finished with a 3mm PVC edge to protect work surface

Frame:

  • Desk features all welded construction and requires no field assembly
  • Frame is a one piece wrapper formed from 22-gauge steel with no exterior seams
  • Standard Double Pedestal Desk comes with two file drawers on the left, two box drawers on the right and a file drawer on the on right
  • Standard Single Pedestal Desk comes with two box drawers and a file drawer on the right
  • Top and bottom frame channels are constructed of 16-gauge steel
    • Top frame has mounting holes to secure the work surface
    • Bottom frame has welded nuts and four adjustable leveling glides.
  • Desk is degreased and treated with a phosphate bath prior to application of the powdercoat finish; Desk is then heat treated for maximum hardness
  • Modesty panel included
  • Create a mobile desk with optional caster set (sold separately)

Drawers:

  • All drawers are welded into one piece with a 22-gauge body and an 18-gauge front
  • File drawers drawer sides have a full height to accommodate hanging files
  • Drawer slides have a rating of 125 lbs. per pair and are bright zinc plated
  • When drawer is fully extended, it is 100% accessible
  • Pulls don’t protrude from the front making them the perfect mix of form and function
  • All units are equipped with locks; One lock will engage all drawers in the corresponding pedestal
  • Locks are master keyed and can be changed in the field
  • Optional slide out shelf is available on either side of the desk
  • Optional center drawer is also available
