Description
This Trebuchet Kit from Eisco Garage lets students build and explore one of the most effective medieval weapons ever invented. With a simple counterweight, beam arm, and sling, the trebuchet launches heavier projectiles much further than other siege engines. This building kit is the perfect addition to physics and engineering curriculum, as students observe how the simple machine transforms gravitational potential energy into kinetic energy. The kit includeds a ping pong ball, but can be used with other safe projectiles like marshmallows, jelly beans, bouncy balls, and more. Plus, two release pin angles allow students to determine how the release angle changes the trajectory of the thrown object. The included guide provides clear assembly instructions with pictures and as well as experiments that explore the concepts of energy transfer.

Features

Kit can be used to combine elements of physics, engineering, and even history to supplement STEM/STEAM curriculum

Ideal for exploring crucial physics concepts like gravitational potential energy, projectile motion, and energy transformation

Instructions provide easy-to-follow steps for assembly right in the classroom

High-quality construction and durable wooden materials ensure lasting use

Engages learners of all ages through building and play

Includes:

1 Base Plate

2 A-frame Supports

4 Wheels

1 Beam Arm

1 Dowel

1 Release Pin

1 Leather Pouch

1 String

1 Counterweight

1 Counterweight Pin

4 Wooden Pins

4 Screws

1 Ping Pong Ball

Instruction and Experiment Manual
